Account Director (Lifestyle)

What You’ll Do:

As an Account Director, you are a team lead on running critical pieces of the business, managing account teams and being a client counselor.  You are a key member of new business pitches as well as selling in projects to clients. The AD is drafting and creating programs and has a large hand in client budgeting.  At this level, you are a key participant in hiring decisions and have a strong grasp of team and billable work as it relates to staff and client budgeting. What You’ll Do:

Position Overview

The creative team at M Booth is looking for a Project Manager who will work in one of the agency’s integrated teams, and is responsible for planning, overseeing and driving progress on projects from ideation through to completion. This role requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several work streams simultaneously. The ideal candidate is very organized, proactive, communicative, and has experience working directly with account teams and clients to track programs and ensure deliverables are on time and within the applicable scope and budget. This role will coordinate between Creative and Account teams to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible, and will orchestrate resourcing requests as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with account leads and clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specs for each project
  • Creating, managing and updating timelines and budgets for projects (both short and long term)
  • Proactively ensuring timelines are progressing and team members are meeting deadlines
  • Serving as a point of contact when multiple teams are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Gather and process client feedback, and ensure all tasks have been delegated, and next steps are progressing.
  • Proactively communicating updates to team, client and leadership as needed
  • Ensure all parties review and sign off on items as necessary
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
  • Schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assign projects to Creative team members based on staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Manage last minute project asks and feedback while maintaining other daily project deadlines
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Contribute to improvements in training, staffing, and processes 

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in field related to communication, advertising, marketing or design
  • 3+ years experience, preferably in a small-mid size creative agency atmosphere
  • Experience managing creative projects across advertising, social media content, and digital marketing is strongly preferred

What You’ll Do In The Internship with us at M Booth! Depending on what team you’re assigned to, you will work across accounts ranging from food & beverage, wine & spirits, corporate B2B, health and much more! You will collaborate on team brainstorms, media/influencer outreach, and event coordination. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring entry-level candidate to grow with hands-on client work.  

Key Responsibilities (This varies depending on what role you’re assigned to):

Who You Are:

As Vice President here on the Lifestyle team at M Booth, you are responsible for running a section of the practice, growing pieces of business as well as the execution of client programs and development of your team.  You possess expert client relations and counseling skills, as well as both people and agency management skills. This VP will work for Lifestyle brands (primarily alcoholic beverages) and is expected to be media + influencer savvy, with the ability to provide strategic thought leadership to an account or multiple accounts from a 360 programming perspective. You are expected to sell in new projects, identify new business and be fully capable to develop and lead strategic, thoughtful presentations. As Vice President, you are mentoring and developing a team.

The VP is expected to be tenacious in motivating teams, inspiring clients as you go above-and-beyond to understand their business and managing up in an effective manager to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a leader in account management and team performance
    • Responsible for macro team deliverables and client communication
  • Oversee and approve budgets, reviewing client invoices and resource allocation
  • Responsible for the professional development of individuals on the practice team
  • Set performance standards within the practice group  + responsible for the professional development of individuals on the practice team
  • Responsible for profitability of client accounts and overall practice
  • Leads staffing, staff development, and revenue for the team
    • Collaborate with peers to determine staff and resource allocation against accounts
  • Participate in staffing decisions (candidate interviews and hiring)
  • Determine staff and resource allocation against accounts
  • Identify and secure resources needed for clients, campaigns, and staff
  • A strategic voice for the client
    • Provides high-level client counsel on program, setting strategies, manages client expectations and helping team problem solve/come to solutions
    • Challenger of status quo
    • Sell in and negotiate 360 client programs and budgets
    • Leads brainstorming for client programming as applicable
  • Ensures strong client/account health and lead team in providing client value
  • Oversee the team leaders of special events + experiential activations (virtual and in-person)
  • Maintains key relationships with clients
  • Identifies and assess new business leads, managing the creative and programming teams and leading new business pitches
  • Serve as senior earned media + influencer strategy consultant for the team and client
  • A problem solver + mentor for the team, providing feedback and guidance
  • Responsible for team updates on yearly plans and assignments
    • Identify and secure resources needed for clients, campaigns, and staff
  • Provide strong editorial support and strategic counsel to teams + clients
  • Supervise and direct account teams on communicating client deliverables
    • Ensures team is delivering on agreed-to strategies

What You’ll Bring:

  • 9+ Years of total experience within the PR space, working on 360 marketing programs (must have an understanding of digital marketing beyond earned media with ability to counsel clients in this space)
  • Expert-level client relations skills
  • Have a strong sense of gravitas and the ability to command a room
  • Deep client networks that span multiple verticals, but exposure to Consumer, Travel, & Retail brands is a plus 
  • Travel from time-to-time for events and in-person client meetings is required
